Getting Started with System Configuration Settings
Who is this article for?Please Review administrators responsible for managing Please Review.
IT access will be required to implement these changes.
The Please Review system configuration systems allow many settings to be changed to suit individual site requirements. Once changed in the admin interface, these changes take effect immediately; there is no need to restart the system. If a setting is changed whilst there are active reviews in the system, this could impact the functionality. For instance, if the offline client is disabled while users have reviews offline, they may not be able to upload their comments.
The following section will detail system configuration settings such as admin, password, and review categories:

Details of System Configuration Settings
All configurations are set globally for Please Review. Where indicated, they can be overridden at a workgroup or review type level. The workgroup and review type columns indicate if a setting can be configured at these levels.
Dependant on the Review Flow associated with a review type, only the relevant configuration settings will be made available. The system configuration settings are grouped into categories for easy maintenance.
Note: All entries have an ‘Allow Override’ flag which controls whether a setting can be overridden in sub-workgroups or individual user/review settings. For instance, if a setting has an on/off value, turning it on with override disallowed will force it on for all reviews, but turning it on with override permitted means it will default to on but can be turned off.
Categorisation
Capacity, Opinion and Comment Categories allow you to define a list of categories for that feature.
The resulting list will display at the appropriate point in the user interface. The list can consist of multiple entries, separated by semicolons.
Note: A category of <blank> means a blank value. The first value will be the default.
An example of a set of Comment Categories could be: Minor; Typo; Major; Cosmetic; <Blank>
- Multiple levels of categorisation can also be specified. This is done by using the sub-categorization Delimiter character, which should be a ‘/’ although this can be overridden to separate capacity sub-categories.
- To disable any of the Capacity, Opinion or Comment Categories, clear the relevant field.
An example of a set of Comment Categories could be: Technical; Technical/Quality; Technical/Legal; Business; Business/Lead Medical Writer;
Important: There is no limit on the number of sub-category levels.
