In this article, we explore key customisation options available within Please Review to tailor the platform according to your preferences and requirements. From adjusting date formats to localising phrases and removing buttons, the platform offers a range of customisation features to enhance user experience and streamline workflows.
1. Themes
The colour scheme and other visual elements can be tailored using custom CSS override files. Additionally, the banner logo is customisable. For these modifications, please liaise with your account manager as they fall outside the scope of Support.
2. Login methods
If users employing different login methods find the option selection confusing or if there are security concerns, separate versions of the site can be established to accommodate each method exclusively. This process is detailed in the Configuring Please Review in multiple sites guide. If your site is hosted by us, our Implementation Team can arrange this setup. Please coordinate with your account manager to initiate this process.
3. Date formats
You can edit the format of dates to display them according to your preferences. This involves adjusting settings for different languages/locales in the configuration file. The user's locale is automatically set based on their browser settings upon first login to PR. Further details are outlined in the following article: Configuring time zones.
4. Localisations
Numerous phrases, words, and prompts can be localised or translated into different languages. The .resx files require editing in various application folders to modify existing wordings. Additionally, language packs can be purchased to expand language coverage. If preferred, the wording in these packs can also be customised. Please discuss your interest in these options with your account manager.
5. Messages
There are several screens where it is possible to include warnings, such as the login screen, side panel, and even the top of the PR screen. This is a separate feature from our alert system, which can display a scrolling message at the top of the screen. Should you require a warning, prompt, or message to appear on your PR installation, please contact your account manager to discuss this customisation.
6. Removing buttons and links
In specific cases, you may wish to remove certain buttons or links, such as when migrating from an on-premise instance to a hosted instance. For example, you might want to prevent users from creating new reviews on the old system during the transition. This is an example of a customisation that Support can provide at no cost to facilitate the transition. If there are other buttons or links you wish to remove that cannot be achieved through application settings, please consult your account manager to explore the possibility of customisation.
