Getting Started with Reviewing PDF Documents

Reviewing a PDF document in Please Review is a streamlined process that involves uploading the PDF file to the platform, which then transforms it into a collaborative review space where multiple users can annotate, comment, and track changes in real-time. Reviewers can easily access and provide feedback on different parts of the PDF document, facilitating efficient and organized collaboration to enhance the quality of the reviewed content.

Review Interface
- When you enter a review the body of the document is viewed in the review pane, which is the main part of the window. The PDF toolbar is also displayed in the review pane.
- The navigation pane on the left allows you to navigate the document.
Making Comments and Proposed Changes
- The annotation tools in the ’Annotate’ section of the toolbar, provide the ability to insert, replace and delete text, apply sticky notes, highlight content and drawing options.
- Select a tool then click on the location in the PDF to apply it.
- A comment box will appear, allowing you to enter a comment, attach a file and categorize your comment/change.
- In this example the ‘Delete Text’ tool has been used:
- The redaction tools in the ‘Redact’ section of the PDF toolbar, provide the ability to redact a PDF using text selection, rectangle, or full pages.
Document Markup
- Once applied, all comments and proposed changes are marked up in the document and each can be the start of a discussion thread.
- @Mentions can be used in comments and discussion threads. When a participant's name is mentioned, Please Review notifies the participant via email.
- To use @mentions, simply type the ‘@’ symbol followed by the username to be mentioned. @Mentions appear in coloured text in the comment information box to the right of the document:
Key Information
1. General comment - applies to the whole document.
2. Download and reporting - access the reconciliation report and document downloads (if available).
3. Toggle filter - set markup display preferences.
4. Leave review - leave the review interface and update your status.
Leaving the Review
When you have finished reviewing the document, you exit the review by clicking the leave the review button on the toolbar. You will then be prompted to update your status:
