1. Updates in Please Review 8.8.0

Mazlan Home enhancements: user deletion, sync and non-email usernames (PR-43204)

What's new: Enhanced integration with Ideagen Hub adds support for non-email usernames and shared email accounts, automated syncing of job titles and account deletions, and improved session reliability across load-balanced environments.

Benefit: Streamlines enterprise user management and onboarding, ensuring seamless, reliable provisioning and lifecycle management across multi-instance estates without manual intervention.

File upload security (PR-42515)

What's new: File upload security and format controls now apply across the entire application, including web interfaces, ingestion APIs, Veeva Vault integrations, comment attachments and nested ZIP archives. Strict format allow lists and header-level magic-byte validation are enforced throughout. Workgroup file format settings now use a clear, categorised checkbox interface, with improved upload errors offering actionable guidance.

Benefit: Protects Please Review from malicious uploads and extension spoofing, simplifies format management for administrators, and provides consistent security and clearer feedback across review and integration workflows.

2. Downloading Please Review 8.8.0

Please Review 8.8.0 is available to all Please Review customers and can be downloaded from the Please Review 8.8.0 download centre.

For Ideagen hosted customers, please contact your dedicated account manager to schedule an upgrade with one of our implementation consultants at no extra cost.

Important: You should request a new license for the version you are currently on. Please contact your account manager to request the appropriate license file.

3. Performing the update

The steps to perform the upgrade are outlined at Performing a Please Review 8 upgrade.

The steps will vary based on the version of Please Review you are using and what configurations you have implemented. The high-level steps to upgrade are:

1. Configure Microsoft .NET Framework.
2. Backup the Database and Configs.
3. Remove the Old Please Review.
4. Update Node.js to v24.15.0.
5. Install Please Review 8.8.0.
6. Merge Config Settings.
7. Upgrade the Please Review Database.
