1. Updates in Please Review 8.5.0

Please Review 8.5.0 brings key enhancements, including the new Streamline Review Wizard, the launch of MyInsights for personalised reminders, and improved Tracked Changes management.

Streamline Review Wizard

The Streamline Review Wizard (SRW) modernises review creation and management.

• Review creation is simplified from five steps to three, speeding up setup for review owners.
• Review Details, Participants, and Summary screens are redesigned for ease of use.
• The review control panel is updated with GenUX for clearer access to key actions and status.
• Editing reviews now aligns with SRW steps for a consistent experience.

MyInsights

MyInsights launches personalised reminder features accessible from the Reviews I Own tab in Please Review and Veeva Vault.

• Review owners can quickly access Review Insights for participant details and engagement.
• It offers a consolidated view of participant roles, statuses, contributions, and comment categories to aid decisions.
• A new button in Review Insights sends customised reminder messages, more effective than standard emails.
• Reminders are targeted using participant status and engagement data to encourage timely review completion.

2. Fixes

We've improved security, stability, and usability in Please Review, addressing customer issues.

Security updates:

• Hidden sensitive Login Context ID on the Logged On Users page to protect session data.
• Fixed a DOM-based cross-site scripting vulnerability found in penetration testing.

Stability and usability fixes:

• Resolved application restart issues that disrupted reviews.
• Removed a restriction preventing review description edits after the due date.

Qumas System Connector update:

• Released a new Qumas connector build for Please Review 8.5.0, supporting integration on modern, secure platforms like Windows Server 2022.
• Added unreleased Qumas fixes and updated dependencies, including .NET Framework 4.8 and core security libraries.

3. Downloading Please Review 8.5.0

Please Review 8.5.0 is available to all Please Review customers and can be downloaded from the Please Review 8.5.0 download centre.

For Ideagen hosted customers, please contact your dedicated account manager to schedule an upgrade with one of our implementation consultants at no extra cost.

Important: You should request a new license for the version you are currently on. Please contact your account manager to request the appropriate license file.

4. Performing the update

The steps to perform the upgrade are outlined at Performing a Performing a Please Review 8 Upgrade.

The steps will vary based on the version of Please Review you are using and what configurations you have implemented. The high-level steps to upgrade are:

1. Configure Microsoft .NET Framework.
2. Backup the Database and Configs.
3. Remove the Old Please Review.
4. Update Node.js.
5. Install Please Review 8.5.0.
6. Merge Config Settings.
7. Upgrade the Please Review Database.
