1. Product changes
We're excited to introduce the new Streamline Review Wizard, continuing our Project Helix adoption to modernise Please Review with a refreshed, more intuitive interface for creating and editing reviews. This release also marks the launch of MyInsights bringing personalised reminder capabilities to individual review owners. We've also made significant improvements to Tracked Changes management, dramatically reducing the volume of tracked changes generated and making documents easier to review and navigate.
Streamline Review Wizard
We've introduced a new Streamline Review Wizard (SRW) to modernise and simplify the review creation and management experience in Please Review (PR-35934, PR-36131, PR-36354, PR-36355, PR-36356, PR-38431):
- Streamlined Review Creation: 3-step SRW flow
- Reduced the review creation process from five steps to three to cut initiation time and simplify setup for review owners.
- Modernised Review Details, Participants, and Summary screens.
- Modern Review Control Panel and Edit Flow
- Updated review control panel with GenUX to provide clearer access to core review actions and status.
- Aligned edit-review behaviour with the SRW steps for a consistent experience when changing review details and participants.
MyInsights
We've introduced MyInsights to give review owners personalised reminder capabilities directly from the Reviews I Own tab in Please Review and Veeva Vault (PR-35930, PR-35986, PR-35987, PR-35988, PR-35989):
- MyInsights Access from Reviews I Own
- Enables review owners to launch Review Insights directly from the Reviews I Own tab in the Please Review inbox and Veeva-centric for faster access to review details and participant information.
- Provides a consolidated view of participant engagement, including participant roles, statuses, contributions, and comment categories to support better decision-making.
- Personalised Reminder Messages
- Adds a button in Review Insights to send customised reminder messages to participants, addressing the need for more relevant, effective reminders than standard emails.
- Uses participant status and engagement insights to help review owners target reminders and drive timely completion of reviews.
Improved tracked changes management
We've enhanced tracked changes so that Please Review now more closely matches how changes are displayed in Microsoft Word across reviews, reports, and downloaded documents (PR-30243):
- Word-Aligned Tracked Change Display
- Improves the internal comparison logic so insertions, deletions, and strikethroughs in Please Review more closely mirror Microsoft Word, reducing over-struck text and making changes easier to understand.
- Applies the enhanced behaviour consistently across the in-review UI, reconciliation reports, paragraph history, and downloaded Word documents to provide a predictable, Word-like experience.
2. Fixes
We've delivered a set of security, stability, and usability improvements to strengthen Please Review and address customer-reported issues (PR-36014, PR-40719, PR-39553, PR-37266, PR-35791, PR-39959):
| PR Code | Fix |
|---|---|
| PR-40719 | Hid sensitive Login Context ID information on the Logged On Users page to reduce exposure of internal session identifiers and improve security. |
| PR-39553 | Resolved a DOM-based cross-site scripting vulnerability identified during penetration testing, preventing malicious scripts from being executed via client-side interactions and strengthening protection against injection attacks. |
| PR-37266 | Fixed an issue where application restarts could break Please Review reviews, ensuring ongoing reviews remain stable and accessible after restarts or deployments. |
| PR-35791 | Removed an unintended restriction that prevented users from editing review descriptions after the due date due to reminder date enforcement, allowing review owners to update descriptions even on overdue reviews while maintaining reminder logic. |
| PR-39959 |
Delivered a new build of the Qumas system connector for Please Review 8.5.0, enabling QUMAS integration to roll out on modern, secure infrastructure (including Windows Server 2022). Incorporated previously unreleased Qumas fixes and dependency upgrades (including .NET Framework 4.8 and security updates to core libraries) to improve stability, resilience, and long-term supportability of the connector. |
3. Known issues and behaviours
Streamline Review Wizard
Adding review details
| PR Code | Description |
|---|---|
| PR-36257 | When a drag-and-sort error occurs while reordering documents, the updated sequence is shown with a failure notification, but changes are not saved. Refreshing restores the last saved order. |
| PR-36206 / PR-36213 / PR-36256 / PR-36830 | The date picker does not close automatically after selecting a review end date or time; users must click outside the calendar to dismiss it. |
| During document upload, a review is created immediately with a temporary title. If creation exits early, it appears as “Draft review – {review ID}” under Reviews I Own. | |
| Unsupported files that fail to upload remain visible in the document list during review creation instead of being automatically removed. | |
| Advanced Options selections for documents persist throughout review creation and reset only when exiting the process. | |
| Users cannot create or update review details with a past end date. Legacy UI still allows this. | |
| Reviews created with non‑standard review types redirect users to the legacy review creation flow. |
Adding review participants
| PR Code | Description |
|---|---|
| PR-36213 / PR-36407 / PR-36409 / PR-36413 / PR-36862 / PR-37556 | The Show Members tooltip displays a maximum of 10 workgroup members to maintain layout and performance. |
| Disabled users may appear in the role dropdown if added via the Add Users button. | |
| The Tara.Web.ForceRedirectToOldAddParticipantPage setting is not supported. Task group reviews do not appear in the GenUX inbox and must be accessed via the legacy inbox. | |
| Navigating back from an error page redirects based on browser history. |
Review control panel and edit review flow
| PR Code | Description |
|---|---|
| PR-36677 / PR-36681 / PR-36683 / PR-41199 | Non‑standard review types redirect users to the hybrid UI for review management. |
| When Review Failed Document Setting = DENY, failed documents are hidden in the control panel but remain accessible via Edit Documents. | |
| Transfer of ownership is unavailable once a review is Completed. This is by design. | |
| When a review is On Hold and failed documents are permitted, failed documents do not appear in the Document Comment Summary but remain visible in Edit Review Documents. | |
| The Zone History option may disappear after role changes. Refreshing restores expected menu options. | |
| — | Advanced Options selections reset each time the Edit Documents drawer is closed and do not persist between sessions. |
MyInsights
| PR Code | Description |
|---|---|
| PR-37926 / PR-40071 | If a user is not found in the Participants table, they will not appear in Review Insights, as the system cannot locate them in the database (e.g., the user made no comments/changes, was removed from the review, or was deleted from Please Review). |
| Feedback document changes made without using PR comment categories are excluded from MyInsights. Only changes submitted through PR comment categories will be reflected in MyInsights. | |
| — | On the first click of the 'here' link in the comment category tooltip, the system opens a page and stay at top instead of navigating to the Comment Categorisation section. Subsequent clicks will correctly scroll to the Comment Categorisation section. |
| PR-35987 | Job Title, Location, and Department fields are available in the user details screen. However, these fields are not yet displayed within MyInsights and other areas of Please Review. Full support for these fields will be introduced in a future release. |
