1. Changes to Please Review 8.4.0

We’re excited to share a key enhancement in Please Review 8.4.0 with full integration into Ideagen Hub, the unified gateway to all Ideagen products and services. Ideagen Hub delivers a secure, modern cloud platform that brings your software, training, support, and community resources together in one seamless experience.

1.1. Hub integration

• Centralised user management:
  Migrate Please Review users to Ideagen Hub for unified logins and simplified administration.
• Single sign-on (SSO):
  Faster, secure login with AWS Cognito, allowing:
  • Sign-in with existing credentials
  • Seamless switching between products

1.2. Bug fixes and improvements

We’ve fixed several issues for a more reliable experience:

• Logout fixes:
  • Fixed cascade logout issues across multiple browsers when accessing Please Review via Ideagen Hub.
  • Prevented unexpected logout of other Please Review sessions when cascade logout was disabled.
  • Ensured logout from Please Review Web fully terminates sessions for Ideagen Hub users, with proper cascade logout.
  • Standardised logout behaviour across all login methods for consistency.
• Licensing fixes:
  • Removed expired iText license causing PDF failures; PDF features now work correctly.

2. Downloading Please Review 8.4.0

Please Review 8.4.0 is available to all Please Review customers and can be downloaded from the Please Review 8.4.0 download centre. Please contact your dedicated account manager to schedule Integration with Hub.

For Ideagen hosted customers, please contact your dedicated account manager to schedule an upgrade with one of our implementation consultants at no extra cost.

Important: You should request a new license for the version you are currently on. Please contact your account manager to request the appropriate license file.

3. Performing the update

The steps to perform the upgrade are outlined at Performing a Please Review 8 Upgrade.

The steps will vary based on the version of Please Review you are using and what configurations you have implemented. The high-level steps to upgrade are:

1. Configure Microsoft .NET Framework.
2. Backup the Database and Configs.
3. Remove the Old Please Review.
4. Update Node.js.
5. Install Please Review 8.4.0.
6. Merge Config Settings.
7. Upgrade the Please Review Database.
