Controlling the document download button

Review owners who need to control the document download button on a review.
No elevated permissions required.
This article explains why the document download button may appear or not, and how to enable or disable it.
1. Creating the review
If permitted, this option will appear on the review options tab during review creation.
2. After review creation
The document downloads button's visibility depends on the review options.
- To access it, find the review, open the review control panel, and click Edit Details.

- On the next screen, select Review Options:

- Then under offline settings, Allow reviews to download a copy of the document should appear for you to enable:

3. What if the option doesn't appear in Review Options?
If the option is missing, it may be blocked in various parts of the application, such as:
3.1. Workgroup management settings
Workgroup management settings can affect this. An Admin can check Admin, Workgroup Management and then Settings for the Root workgroup and any relevant sub workgroups in the hierarchy where the review is located:

The Allow document download option requires Override to be set to Y to enable changes during a review. If not shown, the setting is locked and cannot be changed for reviews within that workgroup or its hierarchy.
3.2. User types
To prevent downloads for a specific user type, go to Admin, then User Type Settings and enable the following options:

If a technical issue stops the download, the button will still appear. In such cases, further investigation is needed, preferably using a download log file.
