Please Review 8.1.0 includes the following changes:

1.1. MS Word integration

• What's new: Our MS Word for Web feature enables editing of complex document formatting, including tables, figures, and rich text with single-click Zone editing in the browser, with automatic save and one-click publish to update reviews directly into Please Review.
• Benefit:
  • Saves over 2 hours per document review.
  • Enables adding tables and figures.
  • Minimizes formatting errors.

Note: The new MS Word integration feature is available for hosted customers only. To enable this feature in your Please Review system, please request configuration through your Implementation Consultant or Account Manager.

1.2. Security checking within the Veeva Vault Integration

• What's new: The Security Checking is a new feature designed to perform security checks to verify users’ permissions upon entering a review within Please Review Veeva Vault integration. This feature is set to ensure that only the right user can enter your review, reinforcing security.
• Benefit:
  • Reinforced Security - only authorized users can enter the review and access document(s).
  • Streamline Process - simple management of document access without extra hassle.

1.3. Summary of features

• Upgraded iText: Updated to an established version, optimizing our redaction feature for better performance and compliance.  
• Upgraded Nodejs: Updated to a secure version, addressing vulnerabilities and enhancing platform security.  
• Improved Reminder: Optimized to prevent delays, ensuring timely notifications.  
• Updated PleaseReport: Added a new "reviews per week" view based on customer feedback, improving reporting capabilities.

2. Downloading Please Review 8.1.0

Please Review 8.1.0 is available to all Please Review customers and can be downloaded from the Please Review 8.1.0 download centre.

For Ideagen hosted customers, please contact your dedicated account manager to schedule an upgrade with one of our implementation consultants at no extra cost.

Important: If you are running Please Review 7.9.0 or lower then please contact your account manager to request a Please Review 8.1.0 license file.

3. Performing the update

The steps to perform the upgrade are outlined at Performing a Please Review 8 Upgrade.

The steps will vary based on the version of Please Review you are using and what configurations you have implemented. The high-level steps to upgrade are:

1. Configure Microsoft .NET Framework.
2. Backup the Database and Configs.
3. Remove the Old Please Review.
4. Update Node.js.
5. Install Please Review 8.1.0.
6. Merge Config Settings.
7. Upgrade the Please Review Database.
