Configuring Microsoft Office for Please Review 8.0.0
Who is this article for?IT Personnel performing the installation of Please Review.
IT access is required.
Important: This article is part of a series of articles covering the Please Review installation process. Please visit Performing a Please Review 8.0.0 Installation to view the entire process.
For Please Review to work with Microsoft Office you will need to activate Office as the Please Review service and create additional directories.
This article is split into the following sections:
1. Activate Microsoft Office
- Log on to the server as the Please ReviewService account created at the beginning of the installation process.
- Launch each application (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- When prompted, activate Office by accepting the Office License Agreement.
Note: Although Please Review doesn't use Outlook, it is part of Office and usually needs to be installed. You can apply Microsoft updates for security, but ensure the version you upgrade to is compatible with your installed PR version first.
2. Creating additional folders
Log in again as your installation user and, using Windows Explorer, create the following directories.
For 32-bit office:
C:\windows\syswow64\config\systemprofile\Desktop
C:\windows\syswow64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache
For 64-bit office:
C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop
C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache
