Editing a review where the owner has been removed from the containing locked workgroup
Who is this article for?Users trying to edit a review but the owner is no longer a member of the locked workgroup it is in.
Admin Access will be required to for this.
This guide explains how to resolve the situation where the owner of a review is no longer a member of the locked workgroup that contains that review, but the review needs to be edited or it's ownership transferred.
1. Resolving ownership issues for reviews in locked workgroups
So normally you would either use the 'Sysadmin Login As' workgroup setting to login as the user to do certain edits or, as an admin user on the workgroup or a sysadmin, you can transfer this review to any user that has the Author role on the same workgroup. The 'Sysadmin Login As' method will not work though because that user won't be able to access the workgroup the review is in to edit it.
There are two possible ways forward here:
- Transfer ownership of the review to someone who is in that workgroup and then login as that user to edit the review.
- Reassign that user to the sync workgroup in the external system, sync the workgroup across and then use the login as method to edit the review.
Remember that any edits like this may break the integration workflow process, especially transferring the review, unless there is a documented process for the integration in process. As a result, documents may need to be checked in manually if they need to go back to the integration system.
