Prizm Doc folders since v7
Who is this article for?Server Admin Users who want to know more about legacy Prizm Doc folders.
Server access access is required.
In v6.x versions of PR, an application called Prizm Doc was used to handle the PDF functionality in Please Review. Since v7.x versions of PR, we have ceased relying on Prizm Doc. Users should have uninstalled Prizm Doc as part of the upgrade process. If folders remain this article answers the questions on these.
1. Prizm Doc installation folder
If there are no PR v6.x instances running anymore, the Prizm Doc installation folder is unnecessary. However, it should be uninstalled properly using the uninstall script located in the Redist folder of the Please Review server files, as outlined in the installation guides. If the folder contains leftover files after uninstallation, they can be safely deleted. If uncertain, consider renaming or relocating the folder before deleting it entirely.
2. Prizm Doc documents folder
If there are no PR v6.x instances running anymore, the Prizm Doc documents folder is also redundant. These folders merely contain duplicates of the PDF files from the PR document files folders, required for Prizm Doc accessibility. Original PDF files for reviews are available in the main PR document files folder, rendering the Prizm Doc documents folder expendable. Ensure that only the Prizm Doc folder is deleted, not the main PR document files folder, identifiable by long filenames with dashes (known as guids). The path to the PR document files directory that must not be deleted is specified in the Runtime\config.xml file. If unsure, consider renaming or relocating the folder before deletion.
