Understanding integrated Q-Pulse Please Review requirements for database replacements in Q-Pulse
Who is this article for?Users responsible for database restores from cloned systems or backups.
Administrator access is required to follow these steps.
This article addresses the steps required for refreshing a vault. This process is commonly performed on non-production Q-Pulse systems but may also occur on a production system, often during the initial setup of an installation.
1. Please Review requirements
When using Please Review integrated with Q-Pulse, it's crucial to grasp how database refreshes impact user and document recognition. Please Review relies on unique references within the Q-Pulse database to identify users and documents. However, when databases are replaced on the Q-Pulse side, these unique identifiers may change, even if users and documents remain the same. This discrepancy can lead to inconsistencies between Q-Pulse and Please Review, especially regarding document statuses and user recognition.
To address this issue, it's essential to refresh the corresponding Please Review system after a Q-Pulse database replacement. This process ensures alignment between the two systems and prevents potential data loss or synchronisation errors.
If your Please Review installation is hosted by us, scheduling a refresh with our Implementation Team is necessary. They handle the setup and configuration, ensuring that the integration remains in a supported state. Your account manager can assist with scheduling this task.
It's important to note that while Support can update passwords for the Q-Pulse sync user in existing instances, this only applies when the Q-Pulse database remains unchanged. If a database refresh occurs, refreshing the Please Review side becomes imperative to maintain synchronisation integrity.
Recognising the need for a refresh typically involves observing symptoms such as workgroup sync errors or users appearing with different IDs and email addresses than expected. These discrepancies can impact user login and synchronisation processes, necessitating a comprehensive refresh to resolve.
2. Q-Pulse requirements
When a Q-Pulse database is refreshed or replaced in a system integrated with Please Review, users need to ensure that the Please Review side is also refreshed. This involves notifying the Please Review Implementation Team about the database refresh in Q-Pulse. Providing the Please Review address will expedite the process of locating the relevant instance.
