This article outlines the possible reasons that cause comments to be treated as changes.
- Issues with certain combinations in older versions
- Issues with browser add-ons, extensions, or plug-ins
1. Issues with certain combinations in older versions
In older versions of Please Review, specific combinations such as field codes and/or content controls have been observed to mistakenly trigger a change indication when editing a comment. This issue has been addressed in recent updates, so upgrading to the latest version may resolve it. If you're experiencing this problem, our support team can test a sample document in the latest version to confirm the resolution.
2. Issues with browser add-ons, extensions, or plug-ins
Some browser add-ons, extensions, or plug-ins are identified to trigger this issue, particularly those that search for specific text and perform replacements. For example, we have encountered cases where a text-to-speech plug-in caused such problems for one customer. Disabling these add-ons temporarily before entering the review process is advised to pinpoint the cause and potentially resolve the issue.
