1. Changes to Please Review 8.3.0
We’re excited to announce a major milestone for Ideagen Please Review with the introduction of Hub Integration Phase 1, bringing centralized user management, single sign-on capabilities, and enhanced authentication.
1.1. Hub integration – phase 1
We’ve introduced the first phase of integration with Ideagen Hub, making it easier to manage users and access Please Review securely.

Centralized user management:
You can now manage all your users in one place through Ideagen Hub. User accounts are automatically synchronized, so any changes—like adding or removing users—are reflected in real time. -
Single sign-on (SSO):
Logging in is now faster and more secure with AWS Cognito. This includes:- Sign-in using your existing credentials
- Enhanced security with OAuth 2.0 PKCE
- Automatic session refresh to keep you logged in without interruptions
1.2. Performance and security upgrades
We’ve made important updates behind the scenes to improve speed, stability, and security.

Node.js upgrade:
We’ve upgraded the platform to Node.js v22.20.0, which delivers:- Faster performance
- Greater stability
- Improved protection against security vulnerabilities
1.3. Bug fixes and improvements
We’ve resolved several issues to ensure a more consistent and reliable experience:

Logout fixes:
- Fixed an issue where users remained logged in after attempting to log out
- Corrected the “Remember Me” option to behave as expected
- Ensured a consistent logout experience across all login methods

Open XML SDK logging update:
- Improved how the system detects and logs the version of the Open XML SDK
- Eliminated false error messages related to version detection
- Maintained full backward compatibility while improving system diagnostics
1.4. Word Online integration enhancements
We’ve expanded Word Online support to work more effectively with external systems, including:
- Veeva Vault
- Documentum (DCTM)
- IQM (Q-Pulse)
This means reviews created through these systems now integrate more smoothly with Word Online, making collaboration easier.
2. Downloading Please Review 8.3.0
Please Review 8.3.0 is available to all Please Review customers and can be downloaded from the Please Review 8.3.0 download centre.
For Ideagen hosted customers, please contact your dedicated account manager to schedule an upgrade with one of our implementation consultants at no extra cost.
Important: You should request a new license for the version you are currently on. Please contact your account manager to request the appropriate license file.
3. Performing the update
The steps to perform the upgrade are outlined at Performing a Please Review 8 Upgrade.
The steps will vary based on the version of Please Review you are using and what configurations you have implemented. The high-level steps to upgrade are:
- Configure Microsoft .NET Framework.
- Backup the Database and Configs.
- Remove the Old Please Review.
- Update Node.js.
- Install Please Review 8.3.0.
- Merge Config Settings.
- Upgrade the Please Review Database.
