- In Bookmark Mode, participants can have a single bookmark per paragraph.
- This bookmark may contain private notes (which may be converted to a comment) and be made into a public bookmark.
- To create a bookmark, enter Bookmark Mode then select the paragraph by clicking on it and the bookmark box will open. The title will be pre-filled with the first fifty characters of the selected paragraph. The title can be over-typed if required. Notes may be added.

- A public bookmark is visible by other participants in the review. The public and private status are indicated on the Bookmark icon.

Any public bookmarks from other participants will also be shown.
- Bookmarks will also be displayed in the navigation pane if ‘Bookmarks’ is selected in the drop-down box.
- Bookmarks do not appear in the reconciliation report and are not accepted or closed by an Author.
Converting a Bookmark to a Comment
You can easily convert a bookmark into a comment by clicking on the ‘Convert to comment’ option.
Selecting this will convert it as a comment pre-filled with the bookmark’s notes. This can then be edited later. This functionality allows the Reviewer to make private notes on the document as they read it, and then go back and decide whether to convert the notes into comments.
